More About Physiotherapy Therapy

Read a Success Story from a Patient in Caulfield

Total Health Physio was provided a referral for an NDIS participant. Unfortunately, he described poor outcomes with his previous Physiotherapy provider. As part of his disability since birth his legs were non-functional and he was wheelchair bound.

Understandably, he was quite reluctant to engage our services, we communicated closely with his support coordinator and all parties agreed we would be trusted as the new provider.

Our senior Physiotherapist, Devana Thevanesan visited him at his home to set meaningful goals and work towards them together. We focused on the things that matter to him. One of those goals was to maintain and improve his hand function to be able to play video games. Playing video games provided intrinsic value to him. We also worked on his lower limbs to prevent contractures and stiffness.

We now see the participant once a month for reviews and he has maintained his hand function and finding improvement in his dexterity so he can continue gaming until his heart is content. This was a really big success for our patient and for us!
